INSPECTO HARDWARE V3.0 • STM32F072 ENGINE

Turn Your Smartphone Into a Precision Industrial I/O Lab.

Inspecto (Hardware Version V3) is a pocket-sized, dual-channel universal analog and digital test instrument powered directly over USB-C. Measure up to 60V DC, source precision 0–22V DC analog signals, and actuate 22V industrial logic in real time.

100% Smartphone-Safe Isolation Architecture: Multi-stage optical solid-state relays (TLP172GM), self-resetting polymeric fuses (PPTC), and transient clamping shields ensure industrial field voltages never reach your phone's USB-C port.

Uncompromising Protection for Your Smartphone & Board

Connecting industrial 24V–60V PLC lines to a smartphone requires military-grade electrical protection. Inspecto V3 features a 5-stage hardware defense matrix that keeps your phone 100% isolated from field faults, miswiring, and short circuits.

Optical Solid-State Relay Isolation

High-voltage Toshiba TLP172GM photorelays physically and optically disconnect the output amplifier whenever a channel is in Analog Input mode, using an infrared LED-to-MOSFET light barrier so external 60V signals can never back-drive the board.

TLP172GM • 350V Breakdown Rating

663 kΩ High-Impedance Input Shield

Each Analog Input channel passes through a precision 630 kΩ + 33 kΩ attenuation network and a 22 kΩ current-limiting buffer. Even at 60V DC, input current is restricted to microamps—completely impossible to surge into your phone's USB-C port.

< 90 µA Max Input Current @ 60V

Self-Resetting PPTC Fuses & Zener Clamps

If a technician accidentally shorts +24V or reverse-wired -24V directly into an active output terminal, the onboard PPTC polymeric fuse trips to high impedance within milliseconds while Zener clamping safely absorbs the transient. Once unplugged, it heals itself automatically.

Auto-Healing Overcurrent Defense

Indefinite Short-Circuit & USB Power Guard

Dual-loop op-amp feedback with a 47 Ω isolation resistor caps continuous short-circuit current at a gentle ~30 mA. Your smartphone battery stays cool, USB-C current limits are never exceeded, and both relays automatically open on boot, reset, or firmware update.

Direct Smartphone-to-MCU Firmware Updates Over USB-C

No ST-Link or PC required. When you plug your Inspecto board into your phone, the app checks the board's live firmware version and updates the STM32 microcontroller directly over your USB-C cable.

01 // VERIFY

Board-First Version Check

The app reads your connected board's live firmware version and unique Option-Byte hardware ID before checking the cloud for newer releases.

02 // ISOLATE

Safe Software DFU Jump

Upon confirmation, Inspecto opens both solid-state relays, zeroes its DACs, and jumps cleanly into the unbrickable STM32 System ROM USB DFU Bootloader.

03 // FLASH

Verified 2KB Block Programming

The app validates the ARM Cortex-M0 vector table, flashes the binary with live 0–100% progress, performs read-back verification, and preserves your board's unique USB ID.

04 // REBOOT

Instant Auto-Reconnect

In seconds, the MCU reboots into the new firmware and reconnects to your live telemetry dashboard automatically.
